New Solo Shows Booked by Sting
Sting has announced his first live shows following the recently completed Police reunion tour. He will tour Australia and Asia, beginning Nov. 30 in Sydney, Australia, in support of a soon-to-be-released enhanced version of Songs From the Labyrinth, and will be accompanied by lute player Edin Karamazov on the outing. Three bonus tracks including a version of the Polices Message in a Bottle, performed with Karamazov will be featured on Labyrinths new edition.


Aerosmith Hitting Studio in October
Aerosmith will enter the studio in October to begin recording their next album, reports the Boston Globe. The band also has plans to launch a tour in the spring. Meanwhile, Aerosmith drummer Joey Kramers blues project the Kramer-Montgomery Band have scheduled Sept. 12 and 13 gigs in Boston and Northampton, Mass., respectively. In other news, a court has granted class-action status to a lawsuit filed against Aerosmith over a canceled 2007 concert in Maui, Hawaii.


Zeps Page To Rock Olympics Closing Ceremony?
Led Zeppelin guitarist Jimmy Page reportedly will perform with pop star Leona Lewis at the Aug. 24 closing ceremony of the current Summer Olympic Games in Beijing, China. The British artists will help symbolically pass the torch from Beijing to London, which hosts the 2012 Summer Olympics. Having a rock god like Jimmy Page and a singer like Leona Lewis performing together for the first time will certainly be something to remember, says an inside source.
